Size Guide & Jewelry Care

Welcome to our comprehensive guide for finding your perfect fit and ensuring your Gi by Giselle jewelry remains as radiant as the day you received it.

1. Size Guide

Finding the correct size for your jewelry ensures comfort and security. Please use the following information to determine your ideal fit.

Ring Size Guide

To find your ring size, we recommend a few methods:

  • Measure an Existing Ring:

    1. Select a ring that fits the intended finger comfortably.

    2. Place the ring over a ruler and measure the inside diameter in millimeters.

    3. Use the chart below to find your corresponding ring size.

  • Measure Your Finger:

    1. Wrap a piece of string or a strip of paper around the base of the intended finger.

    2. Mark where the string/paper overlaps.

    3. Measure the length of the string/paper in millimeters.

    4. Compare this measurement to the circumference in the chart below to find your size.

  • Important Tips for Measuring:

    • Measure your finger at the end of the day when it is warmest.

    • If your knuckle is much larger than the base of your finger, measure both and choose a size in between.

    • Ring sizes can vary slightly between manufacturers. If you're unsure, it's always best to contact us for assistance.

Necklace Length Guide

Necklace lengths are typically measured from end to end. Here are common lengths and where they might fall:

  • 40 cm / 16 inches: Choker length, sits tightly around the neck.

  • 45 cm / 18 inches: Princess length, rests elegantly on the collarbone.

  • 50 cm / 20 inches: Matinee length, falls just below the collarbone.

  • 60 cm / 24 inches: Opera length, usually reaches the sternum.

Bracelet Size Guide

To determine your bracelet size, measure your wrist just below the wrist bone. For a comfortable fit, add 1.5 - 2 cm (0.6 - 0.8 inches) to your wrist measurement.

  • Small (16.5 cm / 6.5 inches)

  • Medium (17.8 cm / 7 inches)

  • Large (19 cm / 7.5 inches)

2. Jewelry Care Guide

Gi by Giselle jewelry is crafted from precious metals (18k gold, black titanium) and natural diamonds and gemstones. With proper care, your pieces will maintain their brilliance and beauty for generations.

General Care Tips for All Jewelry:

  • Wear with Care: While durable, fine jewelry isn't indestructible. Avoid wearing your jewelry during strenuous activities (e.g., sports, gardening, heavy lifting) or while cleaning, as this can cause scratches, dents, or loosen stones.

  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Remove jewelry before showering, swimming (especially in chlorinated or saltwater), using household cleaning products, applying lotions, perfumes, hairspray, or other cosmetics. These substances can dull precious metals and damage certain gemstones.

  • Regular Cleaning: Clean your jewelry regularly to remove oils, lotions, and dirt that can accumulate.

    • Gentle Soapy Water: For most 18k gold, diamond, and non-porous gemstone jewelry, mix a few drops of mild dish soap with warm water. Gently brush the item with a soft-bristled toothbrush (especially behind stones), rinse thoroughly, and pat dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.

    • Ultrasonic Cleaners: While professional ultrasonic cleaners can be used for some jewelry, be cautious with fragile gemstones (like emeralds, opals, pearls) or items with many pavé-set stones, as vibrations can loosen them. Consult a professional.

  • Store Properly: Store your jewelry separately in soft pouches or a fabric-lined jewelry box to prevent scratching and tangling. Keep pieces away from extreme temperatures and humidity.

  • Professional Check-ups: We recommend having your fine jewelry professionally cleaned and inspected by a qualified jeweler every 6-12 months. This allows for checking stone settings and overall integrity.

Specific Care for Gi by Giselle Materials:

  • 18k Gold (Yellow, White, Rose Gold):

    • Gold can scratch. Store separately.

    • White gold is often rhodium-plated for a bright white finish; this plating may wear off over time, requiring re-plating every few years to maintain its luster.

  • Natural Diamonds:

    • Diamonds are durable but can chip if hit at certain angles.

    • They attract grease, so regular cleaning is key to maintaining their sparkle. Use the mild soapy water method.

  • Natural Gemstones:

    • Care for gemstones varies. Harder stones (e.g., sapphires, rubies) can be cleaned like diamonds.

    • Softer or more porous gemstones (e.g., emeralds, opals, pearls – if you use them) may require special care and should avoid harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners. If you use a specific gemstone, consider adding a note about its unique care.

  • Black Titanium:

    • Titanium is very durable and scratch-resistant, but not scratch-proof.

    • It is generally hypoallergenic and requires minimal care. Clean with mild soap and water.
